Poetry Reading with Debbie Gilbert & Garrett Phelan

Come enjoy some local poets as they read their latest poetry collections on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM, in the Hoppin Gallery at Barney Library.
Debbie Gilbert lives at the foothill of Talcott Mountain where bears and bobcats visit as she writes her poetry daily. She will be reading from new collections.
Garrett Phelan will be highlighting his latest art an poetry entitled “Coffee House Portraits”
Garrett Phelan is the author of the chapbook Outlaw Odes (Antrim House) and the micro-chapbooks Unfixed Marks and Standing where I am (Origami Poem Project). His poems have appeared in numerous publications including Harpy Hybrid, Slipstream, Potomac Review, Sheila-Na-Gig, Third Wednesday, and Euphony. He is a Pushcart Prize nominee. He has taught poetry in a variety of locations from The Kennedy Center Education Department to a maximum-security prison in Connecticut.
